Pike experience was pleasant

I was headed out to Central Massachusetts for an appointment that required some juice for the ride back-and-forth. On my way out west, decided to give the newly installed fast chargers, a try at the Mass Pike service station in Natick.

Much to my surprise, both charges were available, and after some initial set up steps (installing the app and providing a credit card), I was up and running within minutes. The Autel charger pushed out 60 kW and I was up to 80% within 45 minutes. It was a little slower than I would’ve hoped, but it certainly suppressed any range anxiety the trip had in store.

Following the charge, I had it onto Jordan Dairy Farm to explore anaerobic digestion. You can read more about at trip at https://www.facebook.com/jeffreyroy/posts/pfbid0J7jjEb5KEpDxWf1Na8tKZh6eVSHewwBkHiUVQy7SL1tUt6dzXfeG3xwNAvsPv2G8l

Thanks to the team at the Mass Pike for getting a temporary solution in place while we await the arrival of more robust fast charging infrastructure in the next few years.

Range anxiety is real and it is hampering efforts to move drivers from internal combustion engines into electric vehicles. We point out some of the problems in the hope they will be addressed. We also cover what is working well.
